There are many foods which are helpful to reduce your stress.

Citrus

Like all foods rich in vitamin C, citrus fruits can help us get through a period of stress, as the adrenal glands, which produce adrenaline, need more vitamin C during this time. Also, there is proved that deficiency of vitamin C, however small, can reduce the ability of the body to respond well to stress. Hence the importance of eating at least one food rich in vitamin C at every meal, such as tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, cantaloupe, kiwi, and of course, citrus fruits.


Bananas

This is one of the most useful foods to fight against stress. Bananas are rich in nutrients, especially potassium, a mineral that is essential for the proper functioning of body cells. This is even more important than the reserves of potassium tend to decrease during times of stress. Research suggests that foods that are high in vitamin B6, such as bananas, can relieve stress.

Whole grains
Rich in complex carbohydrates, whole grains (oats, barley, rye, wheat, brown rice, buckwheat) are exceptional allies under stress. When absorbs complex carbohydrates, the body produces amino acids such as tryptophan, which increases the production of serotonin, a substance that has a calming effect and promotes relaxation. Whole grains are rich in minerals, especially calcium and potassium, and contain a large amount of vitamin B complex, which makes them useful for those who have ailments caused by stress.


Green vegetables

Green vegetables (spinach, broccoli, cabbage, watercress, etc.) are among the most effective foods to help us reduce the effects of stress. They contain a wealth of important nutrients, such as magnesium, iron, calcium and vitamin, which can fail us in times of stress because the adrenaline increase the need for essential nutrients. Green vegetables should be incorporated into our menus to rebuild our reserves.

Dry fruits 

All nuts are excellent sources of protein. And most of them also contain large amounts of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin B6 and magnesium, nutrients useful in times of stress!


Protein

The body needs protein may increase when stress is permanent. It is important to eat fish, chicken, turkey and lean red meats. Deficit protein diet could be responsible for the significantly lower production of natural defenses and may decrease the ability of the body to fight stress.
